I am a Registered Nurse and have been on my feet for as many as 14 hours in the course of a day. At that time, I rarely developed any swelling in my feet or legs. However, when diagnosed with ovarian cancer, followed by surgery and chemotherapy, I was left with lymphedema in my left leg and left lower abdomen. I don’t stand on my feet as many hours anymore as I no longer work in a hospital setting. The compression hose keeps the swelling to a minimum.
