As an advanced cancer survivor, I share a story that is both unique and common, for I’m an individual but my circumstances are shared. Having breast cancer was a jolting and perplexing experience, for at once I was faced with both the sheer magnitude of a life-altering paradox as well as the monumental crossroads of choosing life over death.
Lymphedema was just part and parcel of the entire mirage of events leading to my current place in the schematic mosaic of life. Thanks to an adept team at two renowned hospitals, my condition was not only managed, but downgraded. Hard work, determination and grit notwithstanding, I’m here to tell it on the mountain.
